New version of twitterupdater

I’m happy to report that there’s a new version of Ingoal’s Twitter Updater available. Version 2.10 is tested with WordPress 2.9.2, adds bit.ly support and fixes zz.gd support. Thanks to Jordan “@comm” Trask for the version.

Head on over to twitterupdater.com to get it or use svn.twitterupdater.com to get it via turtoise…enjoy!

  1. Hello Ingo

I’m having some issues lately with the plugin
The updates are being sent without the link as you can see in the below link
    hxxps://twitter.com/Nehemoth/statuses/13743049649

maybe is an option in the plugin configuration, mine is as below (the default message translate to spanish)
He publicado un nuevo Post: #title# #Nehemoth

Do you know if there’s a missing option like
    #url# or something else?

    Thank you

  2. Hi Nehemoth,

nope, there’s no such thing as #url#…missing urls point to the following:

Problems at the shortening service itself (likely if you’ve been using zz.gd – our hoster was on our behind for russian spam bots abusing it)

So I guess, if you didn’t change any settings from earlier versions, you should try a different shortening service (although the problems with zz.gd are fixed now)…

  3. Hi, like the plugin, I wanted to use it with the la_petite_url plugin, so I could use internally generated short urls.

So I did some work and extended the get_tinyurl() function and twitter_updater_manager.php to add the option (if la_petite_url is installed).

Then I had a play and added the option of using the full WP permalink, and added a #url# placeholder instead of the include link checkbox, just to make it a little more flexible. It should also make it possible to add more placeholders like #post_catagory# if you want to.

If you drop me an email if you’re interested and I’ll send you the code.

    Thanks

  4. Hey,

I have been having a bit of trouble with the plugin, it is not updating to twitter, I seem to be having this problem with all the similar plugins too though, is there a known problem that might be causing issues here? The password blanks out if I save and return to it, is that a security feature or is my install bugged?
