Gmail account as virtual hdd

It’s been a while since I checked the net for new useful tools, today I did and found one: GMail drive shell extension. Now I can use my gmail-account as a virtual 1GB hdd, nice

Is there already a way to access files stored in the account via HTTP? I could need some more web storage.

Not really, at least non that I’m aware of…

Is gmx.de an option for you ? There you’ve got 1 GB of free Webspace for E-Mail AND web storage. You can organize the web storage in folders, not too bad…

Hmm, never really thought about it, although I’ve seen the new media manager and all - which is really cool.

Nontheless I tend to use “real webspace” for storage purposes due to the easier access (ftp, ssh), apart from the fact that I’ve got enough email accounts to handle (although I radically cut down on accounts via multiple redirects to one IMAP box)…

I think the Gmail hard drive idea is a bit far fetched. It works and all that, but you get a hard drive with lotsa GB really cheap, or a flash memory if you want to be on the move. There is no practical use for it, unless you are broke.
